Day 1 activity 1

Activity 1:  Go to the Tourism New Zealand website and click on the ‘Facts - New Zealand People’ tab. Read about the people of New Zealand and then choose three interesting facts to post on your blog. The facts must be written in your own words. Do not simply copy and paste the facts from the website☺.

  1. Malo e lelei Macky,

Welcome back to the holiday blogging programme. I'm so happy to see that you've joined us again this year!!

I am also glad to see that you were able to read through the Tourism NZ website and identify three interesting facts about New Zealand. I find Fact #3 particularly interesting...

I wonder who it was that first called us 'kiwis.' Do you know when and where that nickname started? I can see why people call us kiwis (given that one of our most famous birds is the kiwi bird) but I do now know who it was that first coined the term 'kiwi' to refer to people. It's very intriguing...

I hope that you will continue to learn more about New Zealand and share your learning on your blog.

Keep up the great work, Macky!!

    All the best,

    Rachel :)
